The identity of the suspects who killed Sonny are unknown. It is rumored they secured each of his arms in two car windows. It's reported they drove with him secured to each car and at one point a vehicle stopped causing one of his arms to be torn from his body. Sonny was found deceased and alone in the middle of a road. The death certificate lists "Ruptured Heart & Lung. Severe Blow to Chest".

Additional Details:

Sonny's family divorced prior to his death and he stayed with his dad Earl Warren Andrews in Hughes Springs, Texas. Earl was married to Sonny's step-mom, Mary Lee Andrews. Sonny was reported have been at a party with classmates and declined a ride home, saying he would rather walk.
