Summary:
On Wednesday July 23, 1969, at 11:11 PM, the deceased body of 33-year-old Diane KARNES was located by two teenage males in a field 100 yards east of 50th Street and Raven Oaks Drive in northern Douglas County. KARNES was found lying face down, wearing only a blue nylon jacket. There was an incised wound to KARNES’ throat.

KARNES was seen at around 11:00 PM on July 22, 1969, leaving the “Jindo Lounge” located on North Saddle Creek Road. KARNES alone, southbound, on Saddle Creek Road, from the establishment’s parking lot. Later, KARNES was observed exiting the “Capri Lounge” on NW Radial Highway. Allegedly, KARNES was provided a ride from “Capri Lounge” and dropped off near NW Radial Highway and Franklin Street.
Additional Details:
KARNES was a resident of Carter Lake and worked as a waitress.
