Patricia Ann Moore (Patty) was 10 when she went missing from Clifton, VA on July 15, 1970 around 10:50 AM. She was walking to a nearby friend's home when she never showed up. Her skeletal remains were located behind Rippon Lodge in Woodbridge on October 10, 1970 by two squirrel hunters.

Patty was living at 7359 Clifton Rd, Clifton, VA when she reportedly left the house on foot to a friend's (Alice Goetz, 11 years old at the time) house approximately 2/10ths of a mile away (7408 Maple Branch Rd). She was last seen near Clifton Rd and Maple Branch Rd around 11:14am. When she didn't arrive, she was reported missing. Police conducted searches until July 21, 1970. Jerry Money and his brother Jeff were squirrel hunting in Prince William County when they located the jaw, skull and orange shirt of Patty.
Additional Details:
Patty was born Patricia Ann Moffatt to parents Albert Richardson Moffatt and Judith Ann Moffatt. They were divorced in 3/24/66 and Judith married James Alton Moore on 7/11/66. In what is believed to be an unrelated incident, Russell A. Kyger (18 yo) was arrested by the FBI on July 22, 1970 when he attempted to extort $20,000 from Patty's family by calling their home phone and demanding money for her return.
