US Army soldier was shot to death at a rest stop near Ft. Carson, CO

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Romisch was shot more than once while in his vehicle, a white two-door International brand pickup truck with license number NJ-379. It is believed he was shot while at a rest stop along Highway 115, south of Colorado Springs, CO. It appears he tried to drive away after being shot but made it only a few hundred feet down the road, where his truck came to a stop against a barbed wire fence. His body was on the ground outside the driver's door when discovered by a passerby and when law enforcement responded. He was wearing blue jeans, a brown belt, a brown shirt and green socks. His cowboy boots were not on his feet but were close by. The truck had several bullet defects in it.
