Husband and wife James and Diana Mcatee were found stabbed in their mobile home. James had been discharged from Ft Riley and he and Diana were to head to Ohio (where they were from). When they didn’t arrive, family contacted police and requested a welfare check. Upon arriving, police found the couple murdered.

Diana was stabbed 31 times and found wearing only a pair of socks in the back bedroom. James was found in front room stabbed 17 times and appeared to have been dragged down hallway.
