Summary:

Carla Tucker disappeared after leaving her home during the early summer of 1979. Nearly thirteen years later, her body was found in a landfill in Carleton Township. She was identified through DNA testing in 2015. Her killer has never been identified or arrested. A $2,500 reward is being offered for any information that could solve her murder.

Carla was last seen in Detroit, Michigan on June 19th 1979. She left her home located on Elmwood Street to walk to a convenience store. Her brother saw her leave the store and make a left but she never returned home. Her mother reported her missing after she failed to return. For years, her family hoped she would be located and returned to them. They never stopped looking for her and in August 2014, they submitted DNA samples in case she turned up.

Additional Details:

On February 11th 1992, the body of a teenage girl was found in the Matlin Road landfill in Carleton Township, Michigan. She was determined to be between 12-16 years old and was believed to have died in 1991 or 1992. The girl was the victim of a brutal homicide. She was sexually assaulted, strangled to death, and left in a 55 gallon steel drum encased in concrete. DNA testing identified the victim as Carla Tucker on February 11th 2015, exactly 23 years after she was found. Her killer has not been identified and her murder remains unsolved.
