Debra was living in the Douglas Hotel in Elgin, IL. Her family was told by the owners that Debbie was moving to Texas to be a nanny. Debbie attended her sisters wedding, and was supposed to get on a bus to Texas afterward. Nobody heard from her since then.

Debbie’s family had a lot of trauma, many breaks in the family, when she disappeared many thought she was just running away, so they did not report to law enforcement. They thought the owners of the hotel had convinced her that the family was bad and to leave them.
