Alfonso Munoz was a 23-year-old patron at Square One, a bar located in the 200 block of Ball Street, on February 16, 1981. A suspect, later identified as Hipolito Hernandez Marin, became involved in an argument with Alfonso outside the bar and then shot him before fleeing the scene. The the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant for him for murder. Hernandez Marin’s whereabouts remain unknown although he is believed to have fled to Mexico.
