Summary:

On Oct. 26, 1982 Sharon Thor rushed outside her Franklin home and climbed into the passenger side of a vehicle after receiving a phone call from someone she apparently knew. She told her mother, Sonia, that she would be right back. The she never returned home again. Three days later her body was found in a wooded area about a quarter mile from the Thor home.

Circumstances of Offense:

A 2-by-4 and a cinderblock were used in her murder. She was found with her skull bashed in and her ribs broken from repeated blunt force trauma. It appeared the responsible offender had tried to cover up the crime. There has also been concerns of sexual assault being passed around as her shirt and pants were partially removed. Her autopsy revealed she had died from blunt force trauma about an hour after she had left the home (6:30 PM). There were also indications of internal hemorrhaging.

Additional Details:

- She was only 15 years old. - This occurred only 3 days before her 16th birthday. - This is a 42 year old cold case.
