Circumstances of Disappearance:
Brandi was last seen after being left in the care of her mother’s boyfriend, Daniel Waters, on October 9, 1982. Brandi’s mother returned home from work that day to find both Brandi and Waters gone. A stuffed teddy bear, a multicolored patchwork blanket, and a blue blanket with an embroidered yellow duck went missing along with them. Waters was found alive, without Brandi, in a Nevada desert on January 3, 1983. He did not disclose what he had been doing in the intervening time or where Brandi was. Her case is classified as a homicide by the San Bernardino County police, although no arrests have been made.
