On the morning of October 4, 1984, James Eric Bess (14) & Chipley Charles Sanders (13) sneaked away from the Ramey/Estep Home for youths located in Ashland, Kentucky. They were successful in their escape for a couple of hours until they were located by the Ashland Police Department and returned to the group home. However, the two boys were determined to escape, and around 9:30 p.m. that same evening, they successfully did just that. It has been 42 years and neither of the two boys have been seen or heard from since.
