Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Julie was last seen in Pompano Beach, Florida on June 8th 1987. She left her home located at 6201 Southwest 19th Street at 9:30 am to walk to a playmates house but never made it. No one ever saw the child again afterwards. An extensive search for Julie took place. A nearby lake and two canals were searched for her with no results. Men on horseback scoured acres of land nearby finding no trace of the girl. Police believe someone abducted Julie while she was outside playing that day.

Additional Details:

On April 21st 1988, two men scouting a scrub covered field in a remote part of west Broward County for practice shooting discovered the skeletal remains of a child. The field was in an area that was very close to State Road 84 and U.S. 27. The remains were identified as Julie Magliulo a few days later and it was determined she had been murdered through asphyxiation. Her remains had been in the area for many months indicating Julie was killed shortly after her disappearance. Police have not named any suspects or made any arrests in Julie’s murder. Her case sadly remains unsolved.
