Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Death:
Carol disappeared on May 14th 1987 in Conneaut, Ohio. She was in the care of two teenage relatives at the time and was last seen sleeping on a couch in her residence located at 280 Center Street at 11:30 pm. When her mother returned home at 2:30 am, she was unable to find Carol anywhere in the house. She called police at 3:00 am to report her missing. The two teenage relatives fell asleep as well during the interval that the child vanished. A large search which included police, volunteers, and the FBI ultimately led nowhere. Investigators theorize someone entered the home between 11:30 pm - 2:30 am and abducted Carol from the house.
Additional Details:
In March 1989, a few children playing near Conneaut Creek near Route 7 and South Ridge Road found Carol's skeletal remains buried in a shallow grave. While it’s possible Carol was the victim of a kidnapping and murder, that hasn't been proven. Carol Felger's case remains unsolved.
