On May 8, 1988, Melvin Andres Pacheco stabbed his cousin Carlos during a fight at Carlos's apartment in the Fairmont Village community of San Diego, California. Carlos exited the apartment and collapsed and died. Melvin Pacheco fled the scene and remains a wanted fugitive for the murder.

On May 8, 1988, victim Carlos Pacheco invited his cousin Melvin Pacheco and other friends to his residence located at 3633 Marlborough Avenue in the Fairmont Village community of San Diego, California. Carlos and Melvin began arguing and physically fighting. During the fight, Melvin Pacheco retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his cousin Carlos. Carlos exited the apartment where he collapsed and died.

Melvin Andres Pacheco is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder, and San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit continue to look for leads to help locate him. Melvin Andres Pacheco is from the city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
