Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Monalisa was last seen at her mother’s house in Houston, Texas on February 25th 1989. A neighbor saw her leaving the house located at 10120 Irvington Boulevard with a man who had introduced himself as “Mike.” The man drove a compact yellow car and began speeding away as Monalisa was still entering the vehicle. She was never seen or heard from again afterwards. It was originally believed she might’ve left home on her own accord. Espinosa had previously run away from home and was gone for a week. However, it is now believed Monalisa was forced into the vehicle against her will and was abducted by a stranger. No one in her family knew of anyone named Mike. She remained missing for nearly fifteen years.

Additional Details:

On December 9th 1991, the skeletal remains of a young woman were discovered in a wooded area behind an auto shop located at 5460 Addicks Satuma Road in Houston, Texas. Due to decomposition, no cause of death could be determined for the victim. In December 2001, the remains were identified as belonging to Monalisa Espinosa. It’s strongly believed that Espinosa was abducted and murdered. Her death remains unsolved.
