Francisco Amador Varela is a fugitive wanted for the murders of his estranged wife Barbara Prowdley and her friend Rogelio Conejo on February 21, 1989, in the Santa Cruz, California area. Authorities allege he snuck into Prowdley’s apartment and hacked the victims to death with a hook shaped brush chopping tool as Prowdley and Conejo were sleeping. Varela is believed to have fled to the Guadalajara, Mexico area.
