Summary:
Catena Parker mysteriously disappeared while taking the city bus home from an extra credit class one afternoon in the fall of 1990. Four months later, her body was found behind a museum. She was murdered but her killer has never been found or arrested.

Catena attended Richmond High School but also took an extra credit class at Virginia Commonwealth University. She left her extra credit class at the university and was last seen boarding a Richmond Tranist Authority bus. Parker never returned to her home located in the 1100 block of East 16th Street that day and was never seen again. Catena was an honors student who had no prior history of running away or leaving home without informing someone. Police believe she may have been abducted on her way home. Two reward funds were created to help bring in leads in the case and her case was featured on the television series America’s Most Wanted. While there was no direct evidence of foul play in the case, those closest to Catena knew she wouldn't have left home.
Additional Details:
On January 6th 1991, Civil War relic hunters searching the woods behind the Virginia Science Museum discovered the badly decomposed remains of a teenage girl just before 9:00 am. Police responded to the scene and found both the remains as well as Catena’s blue bag containing her schoolbooks. The body was quickly confirmed to belong to her since they both had the same braces. The case of death was undetermined and no weapons were found at the scene. Catena’s clothing were still intact when she was found. Police believe that she was murdered shortly after her disappearance, it was determined her body had been in the woods for an extended period of time.
