Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

On the evening of May 12, 1990, Debra Kay Connor went to Frasu's Restaurant & Lounge in Hermiston with her boyfriend. When he decided to go home, Debra chose to remain at the bar because friends were still there. At approximately 2:35 a.m. on May 13, she called the Connor family home in Stanfield, where her twin brother answered. She asked if she could spend the night there, and he told her he would leave the back door unlocked. Debra never arrived. Later that day, investigators located her black Last Chance Tavern pool team jacket, embroidered with the name "Deb," along South Edwards Road southwest of Cold Springs Reservoir. Over the following days, the remainder of her clothing was recovered scattered along South Edwards Road between East Loop Road and Feedville Road. On May 25, 1990, Debra's nude body was recovered from Cold Springs Reservoir. She had been bound at the ankles with electrical wire, with a weight secured between her ankles. Her death was ruled a homicide, and the case remains an active Oregon State Police cold case.

Additional Details:

More than three decades later, no one has been charged with Debra's murder. The investigation has involved numerous interviews, evidence reviews, and persons of interest over the years, but the case remains unsolved. Investigators continue to seek information from anyone who was at Frasu's Restaurant & Lounge on the night of May 12–13, 1990, or who has knowledge of Debra's movements, the recovery area near Cold Springs Reservoir, or the discovery of her clothing along South Edwards Road. Even information that may seem insignificant could help resolve the case.
