Summary:

Eugenio Matute is wanted for the homicide of 41-year-old Richard Horvath. Authorities say that Matute and Horvath got into an argument, potentially over a traffic mishap. Matute then allegedly shot Horvath multiple times, killing him. Matute may have fled to his native country of El Salvador.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

As of this posting, Matute’s murder case in Los Angeles County’s court records has a 1991 event filing when the warrant was issued. The only other recorded event was a 2003 filing saying that any further proceedings would be held at a different courthouse. The warrant tab also shows the warrant being issued in 1991. The only other warrant filing was what I believe to be an administrative filing in 2024. The filings confirm that Matute is not in custody and is still a fugitive. This case is under the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Bureau.
