Summary:
Antonio Rangel Chavez has been wanted since June 19, 1993, in connection with a murder in Chester County, Pennsylvania. After a fight at a hotel, he fired shots at a pickup truck, striking 18-year-old Linda Bernal (aka. Linda Christina Gland) in the head; she died on the way to the hospital. Linda was pregnant at the time of her death. Authorities believe that Antonio fled to Mexico. He has been employed as a migrant farm worker.

Circumstances of Offense:
On June 19, 1993, bouncers at a hotel broke up a fight between Antonio Rangel Chavez and Juan Barajaz. Juan went back to his apartments when 18-year-old Linda Bernal asked if she could lie down in the back of his car. Shortly after that, Antonio drove up to the apartments in a pickup truck. Antonio then opened fire on Juan, hitting him in the leg. He then fired shots at Juan's car, striking Linda in the head, she died on the way to the hospital. Linda had nothing to do with the fight between Antonio and Juan but tragically was killed anyway.
Additional Details:
After a confidential informant brought up Antonio's name, Juan picked him out of a photo lineup. By then, authorities believe that Antonio fled to Mexico. As of October 2026, Antonio still has outstanding warrants for murder and Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution, based on a review of state and federal court records.
