Jody was never seen or heard from again.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Disappearance:

Jody left her home in Georgia on the evening of May 27, 1994, driving her black two-door 1987 Ford Escort with the Georgia license plate number FRY137. She was on her way to visit her cousin in Pontiac, MI, taking I-75 northbound. During the trip, on May 28, Jody called her cousin to say that she was lost and that she believed that she was in Erie, Ohio, although she may have been just across the state line in Erie, MI. That same day, Jody called a friend and left a message on the answering machine stating that she was in Pontiac, MI and that she was okay. Police believe that she was forced to make that call. Around 7:00 AM on May 29, Jody's car was found burned and abandoned on a rural road near the intersection of Turk Road and Consear Road in Ottawa Lake, Michigan, which is near I-75 and two miles north of Toledo, OH. The fire had been intentionally set in the front seat of the car the night before. The keys were still in the ignition when the fire was set and there was a dent on the car's back fender, which had not been there previously. Additionally, the driver's seat had been pushed all the way back. Jody was 5'3" and drove with her seat pushed forward. Jody was never seen or heard from again.

Additional Details:

Several days before her disappearance, Jody drove about 10 pounds of marijuana from Georgia to Michigan with two male friends. She was paid a few hundred dollars to do so. She drove straight to Michigan and then straight back. When she returned home, she did some laundry and packed for her final trip to Michigan to visit her cousin. It is unknown whether Jody's involvement with drugs is a factor in her disappearance. No persons of interests or suspects have ever been named in the case.
