Omaha police responded to a check-the-wellbeing call involving a 3-year-old child who had been seen running through the hallway of an apartment building at 9565 S Plaza #204 on Sunday, February 27, 1994. After waiting for the mother to come out, the officers entered the bedroom and found the mother, Angela Gunderson, deceased on the floor.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

That night, only Angela and her 3-year-old daughter were in the apartment. A struggle occurred, and Angela was tragically strangled. Investigators believe the person who took her life was known to her.

Additional Details:

Angela used drugs, admitted to stealing things to support that habit and the 26-year-old had her own business. "She told her friends she made $100 for a half-hour dance,” said Frank Brown in 1994. Brown began investigating after Angela said she’d been the victim of a burglary and a carjacking.
