In 1994, 21-year-old Hitomi Masuyama had it all: a promising future, a loving fiancé. On the 19th of February 1994, a young Japanese woman left her workplace to return home and was never seen again. The case remains unsolved.

Circumstances of Disappearance:

Hitomi was working at a dental clinic and the day of her disappearance would be her last day of work, as she was getting married in three weeks. Several days before Hitomi went missing, she had been receiving eerie phone calls to her home without saying a word, and on the day she went missing, a coworker received a call from her work phone asking, "Is Hitomi Masuyama here?" The call was from a former girlfriend of Hitomi's future husband, and it seemed like they had talked on the phone several times before. At 1:10 PM on the same day she left the dental office where she worked to return home, and has been missing since then. Hitomi's car was left in an empty lot 500 meters away from her home.

Additional Details:

In 1995, the year after the disappearance on January 4th, a strange phone call came from a middle-aged woman in front of Hitomi's house, but even if the missing Hitomi was still alive, she was 22 years old at the time, and the voice of the woman who called was clearly that of a middle-aged woman. When the call was traced it was discovered that she had made the call from a pay phone. Neither Hitomi's note nor the car nor any of her belongings were stolen, and there were malicious letters left on the outside of the car. The culprit seems to be Hitomi's boyfriend's ex-girlfriend, but the ex-girlfriend was not arrested because she had an alibi.
