15-year Rachel was last seen watching a movie inside her family's residence near B and Albert Street in Garden City, Kansas at approximately 1:00 a.m. on January 15, 1995. Her mother came home at 2:00 a.m., earlier than usual, and realized she was gone. She stayed up all night waiting for Rachel to come home, and at 5:00 a.m. she heard a car driving near the house and recognized it as the one driven by Rachel's boyfriend. Rachel never came home. She disappeared under suspicious circumstances.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Disappearance:

Before disappearing Rachel had been caught shoplifting a pregnancy test from a local Walmart. Her mother Jan Ramirez, was notified. Jan had an emotional confrontation with Rachel's 18-year-old boyfriend & his mother at his home with a terrified Rachel in tow. Jan then pressed charges of statutory rape against Rachel's boyfriend. Rachel was supposed to be a witness against her boyfriend, who was being prosecuted for unlawful sexual relations with her. The boyfriend was charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child. Because Rachel disappeared before she could testify, the charges were dropped. The night of Rachel's disappearance, she attended a band concert with her mother before going to work. Rachel has seven siblings who were noted to be in the home, as well as her stepfather. Sometime during the evening Rachel had helped her little sister Layne Salsbury get something to drink & put her to bed. Then that at some point a mattress had been set fire by Rachel's younger brother. He & Rachel hads rolled the mattress out & contacted their mom via phone then settled in to watch Swiss Family Robinson on the couch upstairs. During her shift, Jan Ramirez, Rachel's mother phones home to check in & the line is busy. This is at midnight & she finds this strange after multiple attempts to call with either no answer or a busy signal at 2 AM Jan decides to leave her shift early & head home. When she arrives she finds her son on the couch but no Rachel. Concerned Rachel would be sleeping in a smoky basement she begins searching the house. Stepfather & children are all accounted for just not Rachel. The only item missing of Rachel's was her coat. Family phone police the next day. Inform them of seeing Rachel's boyfriend in the area but there has never been any evidence of Rachel Pratt or a child being delivered that fits her description. .

Additional Details:

March 25, 2011, Rennie Pratt, Rachel's sister, 29, had been charged with murder in the 2009 slaying of 36-year-old Michael Porcella. An Alameda County jury convicted her of voluntary manslaughter and an enhancement for using a gun. Her case was featured in the True Crime drama Snapped reinvigorating interest in Rachel's case. In court records, there were messages between Rennie & her ex where she would have mental & emotional breakdowns recounting memories of sexual abuse committed by her stepfather & one of her sisters. During these bouts, Rennie would attempt to take her own life by overdosing on medication. Garden City Police Detectives have traveled from Kansas to California trying to learn more about these claims. Rachel's mother still lives in the home Rachel went missing to this day
