Offense Location:

Huntington, Indiana

Summary:

Lisa Bower was found in her Huntington, Indiana apartment with a crossbow arrow through her chest. Police never found enough evidence to send the case to the prosecutor's office, and the murder remains unsolved as of 2018.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

After Bower didn't meet her sister for a planned trip out-of-town, their parents went to her apartment in Huntington. They walked in only to find her body, with a crossbow arrow through her chest.

Additional Details:

Lisa Bower's mother, Mary Wood, thinks of her daughter's death constantly. Bower had two sisters, Pam Wafford and Stacey Munson, for whom the memory of that day remained painful. Bower's son was 12 years old at the time of her death and has since moved on, though he still hopes for closure for the family. Huntington County Prosecutor Amy Richison was the deputy prosecutor at the time and said the case has stayed with her professionally. The Huntington Police Department handled the case.
