Dallas, Texas
Summary:
Christopher Barrera is wanted for the capital murders of 18-year old Felix Valerio Jr. and 19-year old Clarisol Guajardo. Christopher’s photo is being publicized since The Texas Public Information Act (Government Code, Chapter 552) grants public access to mugshots of adult defendants.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Authorities allege that Christopher and an accomplice committed a drive-by shooting at a baptism party with two rifles. Felix and Clarisol were tragically both shot and killed. Christopher and the suspected getaway driver were both arrested. Despite potentially facing the death penalty if convicted of capital murder, Christopher was only given a $10,000 bond. Christopher unsurprisingly took that opportunity to flee and become a fugitive, missing his scheduled court dates. In 1998, the FBI issued a federal UFAP (Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution) warrant for Christopher’s arrest. It was believed that Christopher fled the state of Texas for an unknown destination. The federal UFAP warrant was ordered to be dismissed in 2011, indicating that there were no current investigative leads in the case. As of this posting, Christopher’s capital murder case in Dallas County’s court records database is in open status with no filings since 1997. This unfortunately confirms that he is still wanted on his state warrant.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Christopher’s whereabouts should contact North Texas Crime Stoppers (to qualify for the potential reward) at 1-877-373-TIPS (8477). Christopher should be considered extremely dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Felix and Clarisol’s families can get justice and answers in their loved ones cases.
