On 05/10/1997, around 11:45 p.m., Gregory “Keith” Mann, Jr. wrapped up an evening with friends and was believed to have been dropped off at the Fountaingate Apartments where he lived in Wichita Falls, Texas. Keith has not been seen or heard from since that night. It is believed that he has been a victim of foul play.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Keith was out with friends the night of May 10, 1997. The exact places they visited are not clear but we know that it included a couple convenience stores for food plus alcohol and also a nearby car wash to clean mud off the co-worker's vehicle at the end of the evening. Other places were visited during the evening but exact locations are unknown. His friends stated Keith was dropped off at his residence, the Fountaingate Apartments, located at 5210 Tower Dr. in Wichita Falls. He was last seen walking up the stairs to his apartment around 11:45 p.m. He was not seen entering the apartment. Earlier in the evening, Keith had indicated that he was meeting someone at 12:15 a.m. That person has not been identified and it is unconfirmed if a meeting actually occurred. Chris and Michelle, Keith's co-worker and the co-worker's fiancee, provided initial information for the circumstances of that evening.
Additional Details:
Keith spent the previous two months before his disappearance working as a car salesman at Ron Roberts Ford Dealership. He was scheduled to deliver a car he had recently sold on Monday the 12th. He was also expecting to receive two paychecks that coming week. He was driving a dealership owned car, a red 1996 Ford Mustang, during the weekend. The Mustang was later found abandoned in the parking lot of St. Mark's Methodist Church. This is near his family's home in the 4300 block of McNiel Avenue, Wichita Falls, TX and was a location frequently used by Keith in the past. The trunk of the car was left partially open, for reasons unknown. Keith's fiancee, who had recently graduated from the college where they had met, was moving into their apartment permanently on Sunday , May 11. She had been slowly moving her belongings over during the prior weekends. Carrie was out of town, with her family, the day Keith was last seen. All personal belongings were left behind, including money in his savings account and unclaimed paychecks. Foul play is suspected according to WFPD.

A family get together was planned for Mother's Day and Keith did not show up.
Carrie arrived at the apartment one hour earlier than expected. She did not see Keith. She started calling family and friends trying to locate him. Meanwhile, Keith's Dad and stepmom, Debra, looked closer at the Mustang and saw that the trunk was slightly popped open (unlatched). They looked inside the trunk and noticed an interior panel on the left hand side was out of place. The car was locked, the interior looked spotless, and no personal belongings were visible.
Family first saw the red Mustang parked at St. Mark's Methodist Church next door to their house. They did not know at that time that this was the demo car Keith had checked out for the weekend.
A car noise was heard outside Keith's family home in the area where the red Mustang was found later in the day.
It is believed Chris and Michelle brought Keith back to his apartment where they saw him walk up the stairs, but not into the apartment. Keith was carrying 3 beer bottles that were later found inside the apartment, on the kitchen counter. One beer was opened and half empty. The other two bottles were unopened.
The trio stopped at a nearby car wash to clean up the Pathfinder as it apparently was muddy and needed to be clean when returned to dealership. Chris and Michelle both reported Keith told them he had to be home soon because he was meeting up with someone at 12:15 a.m. He did not disclose the identity of the person he was meeting.
The total list of places visited during the evening is not 100% clear. One location reported was that they went mudding / driving around near/ behind Memorial Stadium in the SW part of Wichita Falls. Also it was reported that they went looking for a party out towards lake Wichita.
Keith, Chris and Michelle stopped at the Fina gas station on Kell Blvd. so that Keith could use Carrie's Fina card to purchase food/ snacks while Chris purchased some beer (confirmed with surveillance video). They were riding in a black Nissan Pathfinder demo car that Chris had checked out from RRF dealership.
Keith spoke to Carrie on the phone. She was in Dallas with her parents and discussed seeing Keith on Sunday, at the apartment, and planned to arrive around 2p.m. During the phone call , she could hear Chris and Michelle in the background at the apartment. Chris worked with Keith at the RRF dealership. Michelle was his girlfriend/ fiancee. They would marry later that year but divorced after several years together.
Keith ended his shift at the normal time. He sold two cars that day and had commission due on his upcoming paycheck. Keith checked out a red 1996 Ford Mustang demo car to take home and completed a gas voucher to pay for gas.
Keith worked his normal Saturday shift at the dealership.
Keith and his family traveled to Gainesville,Tx for Carrie's graduation ceremony (North Central Texas Junior College).That evening, Keith was driving a white Escort demo car from RRF . Afterwards , both families met up at a restaurant for a late dinner and celebration. Carrie then spent the weekend in the Dallas area sightseeing and celebrating with her family.
Keith and Carrie signed a 6 month lease on an apartment at the Fountaingate Apartments. The lease was originally to start in May but the apartment became available sooner than expected. Keith moved in on April 12th,1997. Keith had lived with his parents for several months prior.
