Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
California DOC records show that Israel’s co-defendant was convicted and has a parole hearing in August of 2026. Israel has most likely returned to his native country of Mexico. A federal Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) warrant was issued in 1997, mentioning that Israel has relatives in the Mexican cities of Tijuana, Baja California and Iguala, Guerrero. The federal UFAP warrant was dismissed without prejudice (meaning the charge can be re-filed) in 2023. The most likely explanation is that there are no current investigative leads in this case. As of this posting, Santa Barbara County’s court records database shows that Israel’s state murder/robbery case is in warrant status with no filings since 1997. This confirms he is unfortunately still wanted on his state charges.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Israel’s whereabouts should submit an anonymous tip to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office at https://www.sbsheriff.org/home/anonymous-tip/ . Israel should be considered extremely dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Joseph’s family can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case.
