Summary:

On 10/14/1997 at approximately 0230 hours, Deputies responded to the area of Winton Road in West Point for a report of gunshots heard. A fire was later reported in the same area as the gunshots. Deputies responded and located a body approximately four feet from the burning vehicle. The deceased male was later identified as Roy Dixon.

Circumstances of Offense:

Evidence from the coroner's office revealed stab wounds to the back, shoulder, lungs, and heart. The coroner’s report also revealed that the cause of death was crushing injuries to the head, neck, and chest, particularly in the heart and lungs. The coroner’s report also revealed that Dixon may have also been run over by a vehicle.
