Summary:
Miguel Angel Rangel is wanted for the homicide of his 22-year-old girlfriend, Marisela Sandoval who was also a mother of three.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
The relationship between Miguel and Marisela had been abusive and it was believed that Marisela was planning on leaving Miguel. Miguel was a drug dealer and Marisela did not want to be a part of that lifestyle any longer. On the day of the homicide, Marisela fled their condo with Miguel’s gun and Miguel proceeded to run after her. Marisela either fell or was pushed onto the ground. Miguel then took his gun back and allegedly shot Marisela to death in front of their six-year-old son. Miguel was initially believed to have fled to Mexico but was later seen back in Orange County. He was in Garden Grove in the summer of 1999, obtaining duplicate birth certificates for his children. It was believed that he was planning on abducting his own children. They were fortunately given new identities so that they would be safe from their fugitive father. As of this posting, Miguel has an active murder warrant in Orange County’s warrants database. He also has an active Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) warrant that was issued by the FBI in 1999. Miguel is originally from Mexico and given how long he has remained a fugitive, he is most likely somewhere in his native country.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Miguel’s whereabouts should contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS or the Garden Grove Police Department at (714) 741-5704. The Sheriff’s Office website confirms that the local crime stoppers organization does not provide a reward for tips at this time. Miguel should be considered very dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Marisela’s family, especially her children can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case.
