Summary:

Jesus Antonio Tejeda is wanted for the capital murder of his brother’s stepson, two-year-old Joel Hernandez.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Authorities say that Jesus and his brother were looking after Joel when Jesus allegedly beat Joel to death. Joel was then buried in a shallow grave. After Joel’s body was discovered, Jesus’s brother was arrested. He received a ten-year sentence for tampering with evidence. As of this posting, Jesus has an open capital murder case in Dallas County’s court records database with no filings since the grand jury indictment in February of 1998. This unfortunately confirms that Jesus is still at large and not in custody.

Additional Details:

Anyone with information on Jesus’s whereabouts should contact North Texas Crime Stoppers at 1-877-373-TIPS (8477). Jesus is believed to have fled to an unknown part of Mexico. Please consider sharing this so that there can be justice and answers in Joel’s case.
