Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Disappearance:

On Sunday 11 June 2000, Kellie Pratt, aged 28 and from Norwich, went missing. She was last seen outside the Rose Inn public house, at the junction of Queen's Road and City Road in Norwich, at 11:30pm. She was seen talking on her mobile phone outside The Rose Inn. Kellie was later reported missing by friends after she failed to meet them for a pre-arranged lift and neither she, or her mobile phone have ever been found. Her Nokia 6100 phone received a call at 23:30 (around 10 mins of the last sighting), and she told the caller that she was with a 'punter'. Police spoke to the "associate" who made that final call to Ms Pratt but the client she was with has remained unknown, and no clues were found during a search of her accommodation in Loddon. It was noted that a few minutes later two women were seen arguing in Kensington Place nearby although it was not known for certain that Kellie Pratt was one of them. At the time of her disappearance Kellie was wearing a black mini skirt, black T-shirt and a light blue coat. Despite a major police investigation surrounding Kellie's disappearance nothing has been seen or heard about her since the last known sighting.

Additional Details:

Kellie Pratt grew up in the Heaton area of Newcastle, was a mother of two and worked as a care worker. But after becoming addicted to heroin, she began working in the red light district of Norwich. Kellie, a mother of two young boys from Newcastle upon Tyne, had moved to Norfolk in 1998 to be closer to her mother. Kellie's mother Gloria Carpena died in 2015 never knowing what had happened to her daughter. Her disappearance was later investigated in relation to the 2006 prostitute murders carried out by Steve Wright who was convicted for the murders of five women, but the police said that they had ruled out any connection. Criminologist Professor David Wilson believes investigators should also look into the unsolved disappearances of Amanda Duncan, who vanished in Ipswich in 1993, and Kellie Pratt, who was last seen in Norwich in 2000. Norfolk Constabulary have said a major police investigation took place at the time of Kellie's disappearance, including taking 270 statements and pursuing various lines of enquiry, but nothing has been seen or heard about her since the last known sighting in June 2000. Her son, Kurtis Pratt, is determined to uncover the truth about what happened to his mother — and fears notorious serial killer Steve Wright may be responsible.
