Summary:

Juan Jose Valdez is wanted for the homicide of 17-year-old Joey Alvarez.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Authorities say that a friend of Joey’s was fighting with a gang member at an apartment complex. Joey who was not a gang member, stepped in to defend his friend and got the better of the other one. A few hours later, a group of men, including Juan Valdez and Luis Fidelino Reyes broke into the apartment where Joey was watching television. In order to get retribution for the fight, Juan allegedly shot Joey to death. Luis also allegedly held back witnesses at gunpoint in order to prevent them from coming to Joey’s aid. The investigation into Joey’s death took awhile because the witnesses were uncooperative gang members. Eventually in 2002, several suspects were indicted. As of this posting, Juan and Luis still have active homicide warrants in San Diego County’s warrants database. The two fugitives are believed to be somewhere in Mexico.

Additional Details:

Anyone with information on Juan Jose Valdez’s whereabouts should contact San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. Juan should be considered extremely dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Joey’s family can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case.
