Marcelo Sanchez-Rubio is wanted for the homicide of his wife, Heidi Leann Ames.

Circumstances of Offense:

Heidi’s friends stated to authorities that Marcelo became extremely jealous and possessive after he and Heidi got married. He tried to prevent Heidi from seeing any of her friends and constantly called her, wanting to know where she was. Heidi wanted an end to their marriage but Marcelo would threaten to harm himself. This is a common behaviour by domestic abusers to manipulate their victim’s emotions and keep them locked in an unhealthy relationship. Eventually, Heidi told Marcelo that she wanted a divorce. Heidi went out one night with her co-workers and got into a fight with Marcelo when she returned. That is when Marcelo allegedly stabbed Heidi to death in front of her young daughter. Marcelo was initially believed to have fled to either California or the Guadalajara, Mexico area. As of this posting, Marcelo has an active Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) warrant, according to public PACER records. In my experience, UFAP cases filed in the US District Court of Oregon are kept up-to-date if the underlying state warrant (ex. Homicide) is served. Therefore we can confirm that Marcelo is still at large.
