Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Cindy, 31, at the time of her disappearance, a mother of 3, was reported missing on July 4, 2001, by her family when they had not heard from her since before her birthday June 26. It wasn't like Cindy to not contact her mother or sister (both also living in Woonsocket at the time) for that long especially on her birthday. Cindy had substance abuse issues and did not have a stable home. She frequented the area of Arnold St in Woonsocket , RI, a high traffic street known for drug addiction and prostitution, where she knew others that hung out over there as well. She had also been staying with her boyfriend at the time, who lived on Old River Rd, in Lincoln, RI. On October 27, 2001, a hiker came across the remains of a human, deep in the woods, off of Old River Road in Lincoln, RI, which were identified on March 20, 2002 as Cindy Roberts. She was identified by her partials, via dental records. The hiker said that, where she was found, the killer likely knew the area. Detectives have questioned many people and at this time there are no suspects or person of interests at this time.
Additional Details:
Cindy Evelyn Roberts is survived by her three children, five sisters, one brother, her parents, her nieces and nephews, and her 4 grandchildren.
