Missing From:

Marshall, Texas

Summary:

Fredrick 'Lil Joe' Boehm, a 23-year-old from Marshall, Texas, vanished on January 25, 2001. He disappeared after leaving a house suddenly following a phone call. His whereabouts remain unknown.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Disappearance:

Boehm was last seen in Marshall, Texas between 11:00 p.m. and midnight on January 25, 2001. He was already dressed for bed when he received a phone call which apparently upset him. He changed clothes and left on foot afterwards, walking down Victory Drive towards town. His friend's girlfriend was sitting on the porch at the time and Boehm told her not to wait up for him and that he would see her in the morning. Boehm was carrying a five-shot .357 Magnum revolver at the time of his disappearance. He has never been heard from again.

Additional Details:

On February 3, 2001, his sister, Jolene Oney, filed a missing person's report with the Marshall Police Department when she learned that Boehm had been missing for more than a week. Two individuals came forward shortly after Boehm's disappearance, saying they saw a man matching his description walking around Marshall, but those sightings have never been confirmed. Investigators believe Boehm's disappearance may be drug-related; foul play is suspected in his case. Some authorities theorized that he was murdered as a result of a drug debt, but Boehm left thousands of dollars behind in his bank account when he vanished. Jolene Oney, Boehm's sister, has spent the last 20 years looking for him, or at the very least, looking for answers to what happened to her brother. She spearheads a campaign page on Facebook called Lil' Joe Boehm, Where are you?, which publicises the case and provides updates. Joseph Boehm dated a woman back in November of 2000, just two months before he disappeared, though the woman's identity is unknown.
