Summary:
Jose Hector Casas is a fugitive wanted for murder. On December 26, 2001, at approximately 4:30 p.m., authorities allege Casas fatally shot 30-year-old Raymond Guerra multiple times with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol in a vehicle near Hollywood Way and San Fernando Road in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. Both men were associated with the Toonerville street gang. Casas fled the scene in a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup truck and has remained at large, believed to be in Mexico.

On December 26, 2001, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Jose Hector Casas and the victim, both associated with the Toonerville street gang, became involved in an argument while seated in the victim's vehicle near Hollywood Way and San Fernando Road in North Hollywood. The victim was in the driver's seat while Casas was in the passenger seat. Casas used a 9mm semi-auto pistol to shoot the victim multiple times, killing him. Witnesses observed the confrontation. After the shooting, Casas ran to a waiting 1997 Ford F-150 pickup truck and fled the area.
Additional Details:
The 1997 Ford F-150 pickup truck was subsequently found and impounded by police. Casas has not been seen since the crime and is believed to be in Mexico. In 2005, the North Hollywood homicide division received reports that Casas had returned to the area, but they were unable to confirm the information. Casas is described as having a scar on his upper lip. He is also known by the aliases Arturo Casas, Tito Casas, and Hector Jose Casas. The Toonerville street gang is known to congregate in the Northeast area of Los Angeles and the cities of Tujunga and Glendale. As of this posting, Casas’s homicide warrant is confirmed to still be active after reviewing Los Angeles County’s court records database.
