Michaela Hague, age 25, was stabbed 19 times in her neck and back on Bonfire Night 2001 in Sheffield and before dying provided details of her attacker to police. Her killer has never been caught.

On the evening of November 5, 2001, Michaela, who was believed to have been working as a sex worker, was picked up by a man in a car on Bower Street, off Corporation Street. She was found with 19 stab wounds to her back and neck in a car park off Spitalfields, on the outskirts of Sheffield city centre. She was discovered semi-conscious by a friend shortly after 8pm. Before taking her final breaths, she told PC Richard Twigg that her attacker was white, clean-shaven, wore a wedding ring and where he picked her up from. She said he was around 38-year-old, about 6ft and was wearing a blue fleece and glasses. Michaela died in hospital three hours later.

Officers produced an E-fit of Michaela's killer, which was circulated nationally and screened on the BBC's Crimewatch programme. For years, detectives re-appealed for information to help them crack the case on the anniversary of the murder, but the killer continues to evade justice today. In 2006, detectives revealed that they had followed up 10,500 lines of inquiry, interviewed 7,400 people and eliminated 3,662 owners or drivers of Ford Sierras. In 2024, South Yorkshire Police was contacted by someone with suspicions about who the killer may be. The 25-year-old, who had a five year old son at the time, was stabbed 19 times in her neck and back and left for dead. Nobody has ever been charged over her death. The coroner who carried out an inquest into Michaela's death said at the time that he hoped advances in DNA would eventually help cops crack the case.
