Summary:
Edgar Hugo Calvillo is wanted for the homicide of 23-year-old Derrick Spikes. Five days before the homicide, Edgar and his brother were robbed a gunpoint by a group of men. Even though several suspects were arrested, Edgar allegedly shot Derrick to death from a vehicle with a rifle. The homicide might have been an act of premeditated retaliation, although it isn’t clear if Derrick even had anything to do with the robbery.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Right after the homicide, a police officer pursued Edgar and the getaway driver in their vehicle. The getaway driver surrendered but Edgar took off on foot and got away. Information from the getaway driver allowed authorities to recover the rifle used in the crime. As of this posting, Edgar’s murder case in Dallas County’s court records database is in open status with no filings since 2005. This confirms that he is unfortunately still a fugitive.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Edgar’s whereabouts should contact North Texas Crime Stoppers (to qualify for the potential reward) at 1-877-373-TIPS (8477). Edgar should be considered very dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Derrick’s family can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case. Regardless of whether Derrick had anything to do with the robbery, he did not deserve to be a victim of a premeditated homicide. Edgar’s willingness to allegedly use a rifle in a premeditated manner to resolve an issue shows that he is dangerous and why he needs to be arrested.
