Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Authorities say that there was an argument and a fistfight at a local bar that the Flores brothers may have lost to members of the Tapia family. The Flores brothers left but returned and called the Tapia’s to come outside. That’s when the Flores brothers ambushed the victims and allegedly shot five people. Tragically, four members of the Tapia family were killed. They were 34-year-old Pablo Tapia Chavez, 30-year-old Alberto Tapia Chavez, 24-year-old Francisco Tapia Juarez and Tomas Tapia Juarez (age was not known at the time). The fifth victim survived their injuries. At first it was assumed that the Flores brothers and the Tapia family were both from a rural part of the Mexican state of Guanajuato. A family feud was considered as a potential motive. However, according to the FBI, the Flores brothers were instead from the Mexican state of Guerrero. That meant there was likely no family feud from when the suspects and the victims lived in different states in Mexico. As of this posting, the Flores brothers have active homicide warrants in Florida’s public statewide warrants database. They also have active federal warrants for Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution. The Flores brothers have ties to Florida, Georgia and Mexico, including the state of Guerrero. The brothers have worked in the agricultural industry.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the Flores brothers are advised to contact SWFL Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). The Flores brothers should be considered extremely dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that the Tapia family can get justice and answers in their loved ones cases.
