Circumstances of Offense:
Ivan had just left a barber shop when he got into an argument with Juan. The argument escalated and Juan allegedly shot Ivan to death. Juan fled to Mexico where in 2009, federal authorities were told that Juan was living in a small town in the state of Chihuahua. This is according to public PACER records. At the time, Juan was working as an enforcer for a drug cartel and was described as always being armed. A federal UFAP (Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution) warrant was then issued. As of this posting, Ivan’s case in Colorado’s official cold case database is still listed as unsolved. Juan’s federal UFAP warrant is also still active in PACER. This unfortunately confirms that Juan is still at large.
