Edward Perez is wanted for the homicide of 15-year-old Terreal Gates.

Circumstances of Offense:

Authorities say that Edward and two co-defendants were driving around, looking for a SUV that was believed to have been driven by a rival gang member. They drove beside a van where Terreal and his relatives were standing next to. Edward mistakenly assumed that Terreal was a rival gang member and allegedly shot the teenager to death. Edward’s two accomplices were arrested and convicted. It is believed that Edward fled to Mexico. As of this posting, the Lake County Sheriff Warrant List shows that Edward has an active 720 ILCS 5/9-1 (First Degree Murder) warrant.
