On April 17, the body of Silene Eaddy was found in a wooded area at the intersection of Pincushion and Montgomery Roads in lower Richland County, South Carolina. She had been severely beaten and set on fire.

Erica’s body was found as the Columbia-Richland Fire Department was responding to a call for a brush fire in the early morning hours of April 17, 2004. As firefighters began putting the fire out near the intersection of Pincushion and Montgomery roads, they found Erica’s body severely burned.
