David walked away from his home in Emigrant Gap on July 30th, 2004. His neighbor saw him walking eastbound on the railroad tracks at Blue Canyon Road carrying a rust-colored book bag type backpack. He was wearing a long-sleeved checkered shirt with dark blue, light blue and white checks, light blue polyester slacks, a dark ball cap, and black Mason brand shoes. He also wore polarizing bifocals and a ring with a white metal band and a white stone on his right hand. David wore dentures and walked with a severe limp. It is believed he left to go on a walk/hike.
