Summary:
Chynna Dickus and her stepson, Blake Dickus, were found murdered in their home in Franklin, IN on July 24th, 2006. They were both stabbed to death inside their home in the middle of the day.

It was July 24, 2006, when Sean Dickus returned home to find his 26-year-old wife Chynna and his 10-year-old son Blake dead inside. Both had been stabbed repeatedly and police discovered that Blake had also been beaten and smothered.
Additional Details:
One possible theory is a string of unsolved home burglaries from around the time of the murders. Most of those burglaries happened within a half-mile radius of the Dickus home and police confirmed that one happened on the same street on the same day. The burglaries were unique because each had a screen cut in a T-shape, which police had not seen in previous break-ins and have not seen since. All of the burglaries happened during weekdays, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., and all were in neighborhoods within a half-mile of the Dickus home — Branigin Woods, Oakleaf Manor, Cumberland Commons and Deer Trace.
