On April 20, 2006, law enforcement responded to a 911 call reporting a gunshot victim at a sports bar in Adams County, Colorado. Upon arrival, officers found three victims with gunshot wounds. Two victims suffered gunshot wounds to their arms and a hand. The third victim, 23-year-old Floyd Robert Sanchez, was shot in the abdomen during an incident that occurred after he won a game of pool with friends. He died hours later from his injuries. The alleged shooter fled the scene before police arrived.

Investigators identified Francisco Alfonso Murillo as the suspect within days of the shooting. On May 5, 2006, an arrest warrant was issued by the District Court, Adams County, Colorado for first degree murder. On August 3, 2006, Murillo was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in a federal warrant issued by the United States District Court, District of Colorado. Authorities determined that Murillo had fled to Mexico. As of 2010, Murillo remained on the FBI's Denver Most Wanted list. He was featured in America's Most Wanted's "Fifteen Seconds of Shame" segment. The victim's parents, Floyd and Margie Sanchez, have been working with investigators and the Colorado Attorney General's Office to seek extradition. The family reported frustration with the slowness of the investigation and extradition process. As of this posting, Murillo has an active murder warrant in Adams County’s warrants database.
