Ms Wnuczek was last seen getting on a bus at Peter Jackson Logistics in Sunningdale Road, Braunstone Frith, to travel into Leicester city after work on Wednesday, 31 May, 2006. Additional Details:
In June, they reported her as missing to the Polish police. Her disappearance was reclassified as a murder investigation by Leicester Police in 2009. Ten years later, in 2016, both her family and police made an appeal for information. In June 2023, police began searching the River Soar after Polish police gave information to the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU). During that stage of the investigation a 39-year-old man was arrested in the Greater Manchester area on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice and later released with no further action. In September 2025, Leicester Police received new information that prompted them to begin a fresh search for Malgorzata. In October 2025, officers discovered human remains in the search for Malgorzata in an area in Leicester. The remains were found in scrublands off the Great Central Way in October and sent off for forensic testing - and on Tuesday, Leicestershire Police confirmed the remains were of Ms Wnuczek. Police remain in contact with Ms Wnuczek's family and are providing support to them. The investigation into Malgorzata's death remains very much open and is ongoing. Police believe there are people living in Leicester's Polish communities who know what happened to Malgorzata.
