Circumstances of Offense:

Our front door was open. Lights were off but tv was on. I found Kevin lying in blood with a knife in his back. Phone in next room was off the hook. His glass was on the table which was next to the phone.

Additional Details:

Later I saw two pools of blood behind the front door which was four feet behind his body. Later I was told his wallet along with a ten dollar bill I left underneath were missing. Days later when we returned to the apartment I saw that the DVD player was missing. As the police were investigating the scene my upstairs neighbors were partying and hanging over their porch rail asking what happened. Also saw a young Hispanic man walk toward our driveway craining his neck to observe what's was happening. ORPD presented this case to a cold squad investigative team. There was DNA found they felt this was the suspect. But our district attorney told me this DNA came from another solved case and this person who's DNA was found denies ever being at home. DA refuses to present this evidence to the grand jury with additional evidence. He feels he can't prosecute with DNA along. He actually told me this. In addition our landlord lived above us. He and Kevin were friends and worked together for twenty years. He's a bit of a cocky prick and has a temper. I was never given his alibi info precisely other than his was traveling in between jobs giving estimates but was home when I discoverehome discovered Kevin's body. His step daughter heard my screams and tried to enter I told her to get her setpdad the landlord Curt Burkett. In the meantime paramedics arrived then the police. For 15 years Kevin's case hasn't been solved and no one has been punished. I don't want to spend the rest of my life not knowing who did this. It's not fair to Kevin or his poor mother who before his passed away two years ago asked me every time she called from Philadelphia Pa " have you heard anything about Kevin's case" I'm 69 years old women live long in my family yes my mom hung on till 94 and her mother passed at 90. That's 25 plus years for me to still wonder "who killed Kevin?" Poor me right no poor Kevin. Oh one other thing. Everyone my kids my grandson, brothers and sisters believe Kurt Burkett our landlord and Kevin's friend is guilty of this crime. Thanks for your help
