Circumstances of Disappearance:
Jerry Whaley was last seen on November 2, 2007, by a family member at his fiancée's home in Sullivan, Missouri. He was staying at the Stanton Motel in Stanton, Missouri, at the time of his disappearance. Several of his personal belongings, including his checkbook, were left behind in his motel room. On November 19, 2007, Whaley's black Ford Escape truck with Missouri license plates numbered 516-RR7 was discovered abandoned in the Miramiguoa Village area of Meramec State Park in Franklin County, Missouri. The vehicle was parked on a power line road, over a hill and out of sight of the main road. His wallet and identification were found inside the truck, but there was no sign of Whaley at the scene.

Whaley was classified as an endangered missing person. He was experiencing depression at the time of his disappearance. The case is investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. As of 2017, his family was still seeking answers about what happened to him. The case has been reviewed by authorities in subsequent years.
