Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

On June 30, 2007, the Florida Highway Patrol investigated a fatal head-on traffic crash on U.S. Highway 27 in Frostproof, that resulted in the deaths of Danny and Patricia McCown. Brian Andrews was determined to allegedly be at-fault and found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.36% BAC. Andrews was booked into the Polk County Jail after being medically treated for the injuries he received in the crash. Andrews was allowed to post bond and was released. He fled after his release and now has an active warrant for Failure to Appear, Driving with a Suspended License Causing Death (2 counts), and DUI Manslaughter (2 counts).

Additional Details:

In 2021, a man was arrested in Mexico who falsely claimed to be Brian Andrews. Fingerprints confirmed the man was actually a different fugitive wanted in an unrelated case. It is not clear as to why this man claimed to be Brian Andrews. Anyone with information on Brian Andrews’s whereabouts should contact Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-888-400-TIPS(8477). Tips leading to an arrest are eligible for a reward of “up to” $9500 USD.
